However, harsh conditions like seasonal storms, hurricanes, and brackish water can lead to maintenance needs even sooner.

If you’re not ready for a full tear-out and rebuild, Charleston Dock Doctors LLC can help extend the life of your existing structures. We repair and salvage docks, decks, pierheads, seawalls, and pond walls. One of the most common maintenance needs is replacing deck boards on long walkways or piers. Because these boards are made from less-treated lumber (due to regulations), they tend to rot in about half the time of the overall structure. When we’re replacing deck boards, it’s also a smart opportunity to inspect key structural elements like headers and stringers—so you can move forward with confidence.
